For this map the client wanted to show where megacities exist throughout the world while also showing their contribution to their country's GDP. In this map the larger circles are the country GDP and the smaller circles inside represent the city GDP. This map is currently featured in the David Rumsey Map Center Exhibit until mid-2018.

The United States has high density urban areas scattered across the fifty states which are connected by various types of infrastructure. With the unevenness of population and infrastructure across the United States, this map breaks the US into 7 regions rather than 50 states. The New York Times created a their own version of this map from my original map. Check it out here! 

A team of six famous climbers, Conrad Anker, Jimmy Chin, Savannah Cummins, Alex Honnold, Anna Pfaff, and Cedar Wright, explored Antarctica during a month long expedition. The goal was to summit many of the area's most famous peaks and otherworldly territory. 

This map shows their base camp and some of the peaks they climbed in Antarctica. More information about expedition, and a different, online version of the map can be found at here.

On the morning of December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu. US President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared it to be “a date which will live in infamy.” This story map uses images, videos, and maps to recreate that tragic day. You can see the full story map here. 

I love Harry Potter, so I decided to design a tileset based on my favorite book series. The Harry Potter tileset was created using Mapbox Studio and CartoCSS.

This was my final project for my introductory cartography class at UW-Madison. I wanted to show how female leadership is lacking in the legislative branch of government. I enjoyed making this map because it reveals that developed countries are not necessarily the countries with the most female leadership.  

For this map the client wanted to show that national labor forces can be broken down into agriculture, industry, and service sectors of employment. In addition, the client wanted to display the value of GDP each country gained from these three sectors. Originally, the client wanted information for every single country, but because of size constraints we chose to do a select number of countries. 

For this project I collaborated with Development Seed to create a connectivity atlas. This atlas explores the world's infrastructure and our global connectedness. You can find the interactive atlas at https://atlas.developmentseed.org/.

For this map the client wanted to show how special economic zones impact workers and economies around the world. This map was fun to make because it allowed me to deviate from a standard projection of the world and instead use the Waterman Butterfly projection. 

This map shows the growing Pearl River Delta in China. The client wanted all roads and railways, both proposed and existing. Because China does not easily provide this information, I learned how to use overpass turbo and QGIS to extract this information from OpenStreetMap. With this information along with a few other sources I was able to make this map for a client. 

This map was created for my graphic design in cartography course this semester at UW-Madison. The goal of the lab was to create a new International Championship Tour bike route. It is still a work in progress, but it was created using terrain sculptor, ArcGIS, and photoshop. 

This map was made for a physical geography textbook. It was made using an ASCII raster data file and adobe illustrator. 

This story map explores the 2016 Olympic Games and the struggles Rio faced when preparing for the largest sporting event in the world. I created this story map during my internship with Esri. You can see the full Story Map at http://storymaps.esri.com/stories/2016/rio-olympics/
